Calling all Californians (top part of post!)

From an e-mail i got from Animal Place

Californians - Your Help Needed!

SB 1578, a bill that would outlaw the chaining of dogs is headed to the Governor.

Please contact Gov. Schwarzenegger and ask him to support this important piece of legislation.

It is very easy to do - just follow the instructions.

Call (916) 445-2841

Press 1 for English
Press 2 when prompted "to voice your opinion on legislation"
Press 4 (for senate bill 1578)
Press 1 to support

That's it! You don't even need to talk to a person to voice your support!
(i did it & it was painless, trust me!)

That scuba diving cat video is amazing. So cute! What a lovely pic of you with your friends. Everyone looks so happy. That leopard print outfit is so adorable on your friend's daughter. And thanks for the heads up about World Farm Animals Day :)

Hi! Sorry you are still having problems commenting on my blog! I am thinking about putting a Tagboard on my goodies page for those who are having problems commenting since I don't know how to fix it. What do you think about that? jw

I am so SO glad that there's that type of legislation on board in CA! It makes me want to move there!

Great picture! Everyone looks so happy!

I will call the govenor on my lunch break today. I remember hearing about that proposal a while back and I think it's a great idea. It's so sad to see a dog just chained up and forgotten in the back yard all the time. Personally, I think if you can't be bothered to take propper care of a pet, then you don't deserve to have one. But then I'm a little nutty about the critters. :)
Who knew that cats could swim, much less scuba dive? Love that video!
Is it weird that I think the idea of holding a "die in" for farm animals would be cool? Maybe next year I could organize something on my college campus. Think the adminsitration would approve? lol

Cute pictures of you and the kiddies! If I lived in the States, I would TOTALLY try the number.

Since I'm still legally a CA resident, I should call that number, thank you so much for the heads up. That die-in in Israel looks interesting-I"m always interested in animal rights/veg. movements around the world. Are there a lot of Israeli vegetarians? (I'm always so pessimistic about vegetarianism/veganism, since I found out that less than 1% of Americans are veg... booooo)

A scuba diving cat! Hilarious. Now I have seen everything. I am going to get Ginger her own scuba getup now. She will be so pleased with me.

Hi Kleo! Thanks for all the great links and info! I love World Farm Animals Day! I wonder what they will have in my area! I will totally be a part of it.

THe SCUBA cat is a riot. I was nervous for the cat at first, then I saw it paddling away beside his doggie brother. They really look like they are spoiled and loving it!!

Is it wrong that I will call even though I don't live in CA?

Every state should have that no-chain law.

That cat is amazing--he really enjoys the water--must be a Pisces. ;)
