25 years of MTV

In honor of MTV's No. 25 b'day (oh for the old daze of the videos "Cuts Like a Knife" by Bryan Adams, "Borderline" by Madonna, "Oh Sherry" by Steve Perry, "She's A Beauty" by The Tubes, "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel, "White Wedding" by Billy Idol, "She Bop" by Cyndi Lauper, "Beat It" by Michael Jackson, "Let's Go Crazy" by Prince, "Love is a Battlefield" by Pat Benatar, "Stay the Night" by Chicago, "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osborne and of course myriad groovy ones by my fave vegan "Weird Al" Yankovic... *sigh* i digress...) a little story that mentions MTV by some musicians who seem to have some good vegan vibes:

http://www.wonkavisionmagazine.com/freyainterview.htm

I like the last quote from the guy, the last line of the article:
"You don't have to be vegan. Do what you are capable of and comfortable with, but if it's something you are interested in, take it step by step, slowly. It took me 3 years and was wicked hard."

Didja know that Martha Quinn, once my fave MTV VJ (do they still have them? i don't watch TV!) is a vegetarian!

And the MTV cake from the crazy
cake-making place i linked below:

I don't watch much MTV. I prefer VH1, especially VH1 Classic. I like it when they show "We are the 80's."
You know how much I heart Bryan! If only he would come to his senses and marry me. We could have that champagne cake for our wedding. *sigh* Funny that you mentioned him here today after I did too! And Cuts Like a Knife is one of my favorite songs of his. Good choice Kleo!

Oh, I also answered you over at my blog, but in case you don't check...yes, he's veg. Has been for almost 20 years.

MTV 25 years, it has been about that long since I have wateched it. You asked about the "george" grill I mention on my blog. Yes, it is the george foreman grill...I have a size that grills a perfect slab of tofu, a couple onion slices, mushrooms (my fav).

I had no idea Martha Quinn was a vegeatarian. Thanks for the link to article about the Earth Crisis singer. That's a great quote from him as it shows respect to everyone. None of that competitive I'm more vegan than you crapola.

I heart Trent! It's crazy how fast his blog has exploded.

I also still love my MTV and MTV2 and MTV Hits, and MTV Jams......

Hey Kleo! I love those old songs!

Penny and Jackie are doing just fine! They are sooo much better than when they met a year or two ago and Jackie was a little bully. Nothing like a big dog running from a little one!

My ex used to play Earth Crisis' DVD where they were in Japan and could only eat certain things... And he loved my mac n' cheze with nutri yeast and peas...

I was in high school when MTV launched. It was the hot new thing. Boy, do I feel old. And glad I'm not 16 anymore.

The only substantial amount of MTV I’ve watched was euro-MTV when I was studying abroad. I still remember Spice Girls, Jamiroquai and Oasis videos from 1997.

I want that MTV cake for my next birthday....I remember when MTV started out and all they played was Madonna in her jelly bracelets. My mom thought that MTV was a bad influence on kids, and always called to have the channel removed. Then, every so often they would mix up the channels, and I'd find it again, and watch it in secret....LOL

My mom raised me on mtv and I remember those original vj's- nina blackwell, martha quinn, etc. I may have been young but I appreciated the music!
