i just found out that my friend Nicki sponsored this adorable guy, whose name is Baa Baa Ganoush, in my name from Best Friends Animal Society - http://www.bestfriends.org/ - a wonderful place in Kanab, Utah! If you have a minute, go check out their Web site. Here's what it says about him there:
"Baa Baa Ganoush feels like a big puffy carpet! He's all powdery tan and very cute. He's not too gregarious, but he likes it when you pet him. Although -- petting him is more like patting a sponge than stroking fur! He's very gentle and nice.
Baa Baa Ganoush was born around 1997. Not much is known about his past, but when he first arrived, he was a very dear friend to another Best Friends sheep who since passed away. He now has new sheep-friends in his life, but he's never quite gotten over losing that one special friend. It'll take time -- and maybe some encouraging letters from his sponsor!"

<----Peter showcased his fronds last week at the weekly Farmer's Market in my former digs of Ocean Beach http://oceanbeachsandiego.com/FarmersMarket.shtml .
This is my current fave, above!
A local organic farm - http://themorningstarranch.org/ - at the Farmer's Market. I tried some of their grapefruit. Really delicious.

Matty's furry paws look strikingly similar to that supa-fluffy sheep!
Congratulations on your adoption of Baa Baa Ganoush! I'm totally laughing at the name, it's so perfect, and hurray that he'll be taken care of in your name. Awesome.
Yeaaah, for Peter doing the OB FM gig *that's so cool* as cool as the Matster under the table. :o)
*Sighs* I wish we had even half that much stuff going on here in Maryland. I guess I'll have to start my own wave. ;-)
Baa Baa is so cute! I met my first sheep, in real life, when I was about five. The sheep's name was Woolly Booger. :-)
Whoops! I forgot to add Peter is so talented and I'm loving the bus. Colorful!!! :-)
Baa Baa is so cute. Glad to see it has been adopted.
Very jealous of the Farmers Markets you have. We have wonderful Flea Markets but no Farmers Markets where you can buy organic products.
Mattie looking hugable as usual :)
Thanks for the visits and very nice comments.
I love going to a farmer's market since you get fresh as well as organic stuff.
We have tons of sheep here who sometimes roam in my backyard
Peter is so incredibly talented... and Mattie looks so chill under his table..
I LOVE Baa Baa Ganoush.. what a great name. I'm so glad you linked to this sanctuary, I've never heard of it.
Vegans do it better and everwhere! hehe
Happy Passover!
I LOVE HIPPIE BUSSES! I would have ran and jumped on it..lol..ok maybe not, but I would have..um..well..stared...
What a colorful informative post!
And that little Baa Baa is so adorable!
Happy Easter and/or Passover and/or whatever!
Ok, my husband officially thinks I'm a freak now, because I just saw the picture of Baa Baa Ganoush (and the name!) and started squealing uncontrollably. I can't help it- he's SO adorable. (I have a thing for sheep anyway). That is so nice to know he's at an animal sanctuary, being cared for and loved like he deserves. Awwww. Sqeeeeeee.
Thanks for bringing a bit of cuteness and love into our lives!
Oh, and have I mentioned how much I love looking at Peter's wares? He is such a talented artist.
Happy Passover to you!
Baa Baa Ganoush and Mat are really super cute.
OMG, that sheep is just too cute!
Thanks for sayin' "hello".
The "It's Not all about me" comment in your profile was my mantra a few years back while I came out of a bad funk.
Life is so much easier when we just take care of ourselves....and have compassion and respect for all other things.
Keep doin' all that you do. You are definitely putting a good message into world.
Charlie
Mattie's adorable. I used to have a cocker spaniel named Max...they are the sweetest things.
Happy Passover!!
I'm lovin' that sheep! I sponsored a turkey at Farm Sanctuary this past Christmas, and I'm hoping to be able to afford more this year. Kudos on the adoption!
Love Peter's fronds. His designs have such power and strength. What a great idea to showcase them at the markets.
Adore organic markets. We have one near me on the Gold Coast and all the people selling like your wonderful people have such a happiness about them.
The honesty and integrity of their connection to real earth seems to come through.
Here's to an organic, vegan planet.
I know Baa Baa Ganoush will be with us on that one.
Kleo, I have to say that you are the consistent purveyor of all things cool, veggie and life-affirming, and your positive vibes and generosity absolutely permeate the blogosphere.
BaaBaa Ganoush--love the name, love the sheep, and would love to meet him. Peter's palm frond masks are too cool and creative. Happy Passover, Kleo. Matzoh-tov! ;)
Baa Baa is absolutely adorable. I wish I could reach through this screen and give him a big old hug, he's so cuddly.:-)

That's so sweet your friend is sponsoring Baa Baa Ganoush. I just love the name they gave that sheep!!!
Peter's masks are so cool and of course Mattie is as cute as ever. I bet that organic grapefruit was delicious. I can't wait for farm market season here, although I doubt there will be organic grapefruit at the farm markets here. Wow, that farm sure had a trippy bus.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend :)
Baa Baa Ganoush will make a fine honorary sibling to Mattie and her super furry paws!
What a great thing to do- I too am in the adopting process through Farm Sanctuary.
I love the pic and comments on Baa Baa Ganoush. He totally looks like a big puffy carpet.
Peter is quite an artist, so talented.
