Happy Mail, "Weird Al" & eBay goes vegan

Mattie spies some of the goodies i got in the mail over the last couple of weeks from some super terrific friends of mine, the kind Candi http://candi2400.blogspot.com/ and generous Vicki http://veganvice.blogspot.com/! THANK YOU SO MUCH! It's always a treat to get non-bills/non-junk mail, especially notes from friends, and it's beyond awesome to get goodies like these in the mail. I'll be proverbially "paying it forward" very soon. Stay tooned!

Thanks for the recipe books, Candi! A super cool Chicago Diner (where i've been lucky to dine twice!) Cookbook AND Nava Atlas's soups (and accompaniments). Both very enlightening books.

Thanks for the dog biscuits (one eaten and totally enjoyed by the Matster, but i saved the wrapper) and delectable vegan cookies, Vicki!

And speaking of happy mail, if you have a minute, do check out Wanda Embar's wonderful Web site and its vegan e-cards (for all occasions, and even some "non occasions") that are free & easy to send as e-mail:

As seen on eBay, the following (suggested listening... animal-loving, long-time veghead, "Weird Al" Yankovic's "eBay" from his fun CD from a few years back called "Poodle Hat" - lyrics below):

Sung to the Backstreet Boys' "I Want it That Way"

Yeah
A used ... pink bathrobe
A rare ... mint snowglobe
A Smurf ... TV tray
I bought on eBay

My house ... is filled with this crap
Shows up in bubble wrap
Most every day
What I bought on eBay

Tell me why (I need another pet rock)
Tell me why (I got that Alf alarm clock)
Tell me why (I bid on Shatner's old toupee)
They had it on eBay

I'll buy ... your knick-knack
Just check ... my feedback
"A++!" they all say
They love me on eBay

Gonna buy (a slightly-damaged golf bag)
Gonna buy (some Beanie Babies, new with tag)
(From some guy) I've never met in Norway
Found him on eBay

I am the type who is liable to snipe you
With two seconds left to go,
whoa Got Paypal or Visa,
what ever'll please
As long as I've got the dough

I'll buy ... your tchotchkes
Sell me ... your watch, please
I'll buy (I'll buy, I'll buy, I'll buy ...)
I'm highest bidder now

(Junk keeps arriving in the mail)
(From that worldwide garage sale)
(Dukes Of Hazzard ashtray)
(Hey! A Dukes Of Hazzard ashtray)
Oh yeah ... (I bought it on eBay)

Wanna buy (a PacMan Fever lunchbox)
Wanna buy (a case on vintage tube socks)
Wanna buy (a Kleenex used by Dr. Dre, Dr. Dre)
(Found it on eBay)

Wanna buy (that Farrah Fawcett poster)
(Pez dispensers and a toaster)
(Don't know why ... the kind of stuff you'd throw away)
(I'll buy on eBay)
What I bought on eBay-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y

Awesome vegan "Weird Al" & his poodle.
(I've seen WAY in concert once - a blast!)

LOL! How I love "Weird" Al--I've never heard that song, though, and it really can be quite fitting for eBay aficionados. All those veg buttons are so cute. And hey, isn't it wonderful to be loved by friends? Have fun with your new cookbooks, Kleo!

Looks like Mattie got a trim. Very pretty I must say. Presents in the mail! How exciting is that. TWO cookbooks! Let us know how you like them. And treats from Vicki! I bet they tasted even better than they look.
I sometimes get Simon those cookies. He likes all the flavours. He will mess around with it for hours, trying to bury it either in his crate, in the sofa, under various pieces of furniture. He'll come into whatever room we're in; stand there staring at us with the cookie in his mouth, then turn around and trot off to do more burying. He really is a strange dog sometimes.

Isn't it wonderful to get great mail from pals? Candi and Vicki are so sweet. And so are you! I am glad Mattie scarfed up that bone.

Those buttons are amazing--I want to buy them all. Hhhmmm...guess I should start with at least one. The only buttons I have are from Vegan Treats bakery--they say "Another good reason to go vegan." (which is so true)

That ebay song is a hoot. Weird Al is the best--though not as BEST as you, Kleo. Many thanks for all your thoughtful posts.

Weird Al is a vegan?? NO WAY. How cool is that?
Those buttons are so neat. I want them all! I especially love the one that says "I think, therefore I'm vegetarian." oh, snap. =)

Ok, now I have the Backstreet *^%&$# Boys stuck in my head- thanks a lot!

Ooooh, what a wonderful mail day for you and as always, look at Mattie....what a cutie :) That's great you got treats for both you and Mattie. Of all those buttons, my favorite is "Bite Me, I'm Vegan". And I always get a kick out of Weird Al's music...that eBay song always makes me chuckle.

What a fun post, Kleo! I like the button "Meats no treat for those you eat!" Amen.

I love Weird Al, and I think it's cool that he looks strikingly like his dog. :o)

Cherie, the cookies on the left are Dreena's "Chloe" Cookies from Vive -- only with almonds instead and with cranberries.

Congrats on getting a "Thinking Blogger Award" on Winsome Gunning's blog.

What cute badges. All I have managed to ever get are a range of the McMurder ones.

Never heard of Weird Al before.

Britty and I love that Weird Al song! Actually, we just love everything Weird Al! Years ago, I used to watch Al Tv. Did you see that? ooh, he is so funny! The e*bay song though had me laughing so much. There's a funny YouTube video of it that we love!
